Our Team
Jana Fuchs, Founder & Owner, LCPC
I am a Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor, the owner/founder of Chicago Relational Therapy, owner/founder of Jana Fuchs Coaching, and the host of the She, Illuminated podcast. I earned my Master’s degree in Counseling Psychology from Northwestern University and have 12 years of experience treating individuals, couples, families, and groups in the private practice setting. As a therapist, I am constantly inspired by the tenacity of the human spirit. Under the right conditions, the human spirit is capable of great healing. It is heartening to witness a client return home to their core self, as they reclaim their life.
Outside of my work as a therapist, I offer coaching services to empower and support ambitious over-thinkers.
A little more about me:
My former career was as a senior pharmaceutical representative at a big pharma company. I returned to graduate school in my late 20s and have never looked back. In my off time, I love going to see live music, binge-watching classics like White Lotus, and “reading” books on my Audible app. I prefer to spend as much time outdoors as possible, as long as it’s above 20 degrees Fahrenheit.
I have been deeply impacted by the ripple waves of cancer and grief, pregnancy and postpartum, and the trials of balancing my career while parenting my 2 incredible kids, one of whom has Autism Spectrum Disorder. As a therapist, I know how much courage it takes to do the work of showing up for yourself. As a fellow therapy client myself, I engage in the work because it deepens my self-understanding, and self-love, and creates insight and connection when I feel stuck or alone. As someone who just ran their first half marathon at 43, I believe that people can grow and do hard, new things at any age. So now it’s time for you to share your story with me. I look forward to connecting with you soon!

Currently accepting a limited number of new virtual clients! I’m a Licensed Professional Counselor with extensive experience working with individuals, couples, and groups in community mental health and private practice settings. I earned my Master’s degree in Mental Health Counseling from Northwestern University. As a therapist, I help my clients get to the root of the problems holding them back. I aim to see, hear, and understand you - all of you. Together, we’ll acknowledge, process, and heal the good, the bad, and the uncomfortable.
I specialize in working with millennial and gen-z women to overcome feelings of anxiety and depression, build self-confidence and self-love, and navigate the uncertainty of life phases. Many of my clients feel stuck and overwhelmed, burdened by the existential questions of who they are, what they want, and if they’re doing this so-called “life” thing right. I’m also incredibly passionate about working with couples. Whether you’re considering taking the next step or you’re 20 years into your marriage, I can help you strengthen your communication, foster greater intimacy, and stop destructive cycles and dynamics.
As someone who’s been in therapy for years, I completely understand wanting to know that your therapist fundamentally gets what you’re going through. I have personal experience with anxiety and depression, dysfunctional family patterns, career changing, chronic health issues, and trauma. I know how profound of an impact these experiences can have and how transformative and healing therapy can be when done well. Wanting to learn more about me?

Our Values
-
We recognize the vulnerability and courage it takes as a client. We honor that by showing up with raw authenticity in session, just as much as you do. We’re not the kind of therapists who respond with monotonous head nods and the dreaded, “how does that make you feel?” We’re right there with you, empowering you through connection, empathy, and accountability.
-
We recognize that therapy is a significant investment of your time, energy, and finances. As such, we personalize our approach and process to fit your needs and goals. We utilize a values-based approach, meaning we focus on what matters to you. Additionally, we love feedback and want to ensure you’re getting what you need from the experience.
-
We strongly believe in that it is our responsibility to advocate for social justice. Each year, we participate in giving back to local organizations that promote mental health opportunities for marginalized populations. We practice from an anti-racist, multicultural perspective. All races, ethnicities, sexual orientations, religions, and identities are welcomed and respected in the work we do.
-
Life can be funny and we’re not shy about leaning into laughter when it’s relevant and cathartic.
-
We’re life-long learners and we are proud to be a part of an evolving field! We keep up-to-date on the newest science-backed techniques and interventions to guarantee the highest quality of care. We work hard to ensure we’re asking the right questions. If there are certain questions that we do not know the answers to, we’ll tell you so and then circle back to you with a well-researched response.
-
We are here to support and empower you in learning how to trust and reconnect with yourself. We guide you throughout your self exploration, but it’s up to you to take the steps necessary to make change. We encourage you to lean into the impact you have regarding your present and future.
